Nobel Prize work
Jumper led the team that rebuilt AlphaFold into AlphaFold2, the deep-learning system that predicts a protein’s three-dimensional structure from its amino-acid sequence with near-experimental accuracy. Its result at the 2020 CASP14 competition effectively solved the protein-folding problem, and the AlphaFold database now holds over 200 million predicted structures.
